Daily Maintenance Methods for Video Wall LCD Panels

Video wall LCD panels can select different video processing systems based on user's requirements for input signals, completing VGA, composite video, S-VIDEO, YPBPR/YCBCR or DVI signal input. It meets the needs of different application scenarios and different signal inputs. It can also achieve various signal switching, image stretching display, peripheral display of images, full-screen splicing display, arbitrary combination display and image superposition display through control software.

To maintain its wide application and appreciation in various fields, accurate maintenance can extend the life of LCD panels and improve cost performance. So, what are the maintenance methods for LCD panels?

Avoid Violent Impact

The LCD panel houses many fine glass and electrical components. Therefore, the screens are very sensitive and less resistance to impact. Violent impact can cause damage to the LCD panels and other related components. Also, avoid applying pressure to the surface of the LCD panel, such as pointing the screen with fingers.

Maintain a Dry Operating Environment

This is essential for the normal operation of the LCD wall panels. If the operating environment is humid, the interior of the screen can easily be damaged by oxidation and corrosion. Therefore, it is necessary to keep a dry operating environment for video wall LCD panels. If the screen surface is found to be damp, gently wipe it with a soft cloth before turning on the power. Or, if the screen gets too wet, it is important to let it dry out thoroughly before using it again.

Correct Cleaning of LCD wall panels

Over time, the LCD wall panels will accumulate dust and dirt. The right cleaning methods include using soft, non-fibrous materials such as degreasing cotton, lens paper, or a soft cloth with a small amount of glass cleaner to gently wipe off the dust or dirt on the screen.

Attention should be paid not to use organic solvents such as alcohol, or rough cloths or paper items, which could scratch the surface and disrupt the display. Also, remember not to spray cleaning fluid directly onto the display screen, as it can easily flow into the screen and cause internal short-circuit problems.

Pay Attention to Operating Duration

Long-term overloading can cause overheating of some of the pixels on the LCD panels, which, if over the limit can cause permanent damage. Thus, it is good practice to take breaks periodically to avoid continuous operation and prevent hardware damage.

Set Optimal Resolution

The most efficient resolution could be adjusted according to the signal strength from the graphics card. Whether centered or expanded display, it is advised to use the recommended optimal resolution.

Update Screen Display Regularly

If the LCD wall panel always displays the same image, it can easily cause overheating of some pixels. Consequently, it can result in irreversible damage or dead pixels.

Avoid Dismantling the Video Wall LCD Panels Improperly

Because the LCD panels is very delicate, unlike the general CRT splicing screen, where components can be replaced freely. Also, the high voltage residue in the transformer of the LCD panel’s background lighting components could cause unnecessary damage.

Develop Good Usage Habits

Try to avoid pointing with your fingers on the screen. This is because the LCD panel is very sensitive and has poor impact resistance, which can easily increase the number of bad pixels. Also, do not open the back cover of the LCD panel while it’s powered on.

These are the nine daily maintenance methods for LCD splicing screens summarized by ZXTLCD. Only by paying attention to these things during routine use can effectively extend the life of video wall LCD panels and increase cost-effectiveness.
